Imphal, April 2:The first of the three-phased District Level Science Exhibition organised by Department of Education (S), Government of Manipur commenced at Bengali High School, Babupara here today. The inaugural function of the two-day long 'District Level Science Exhibition and Project Competition of Inspire Awardees of Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research' which was organised under the auspices of the Ministry of Science Technology, Government of India was graced by W Rajen, Director of Education (S), Government of Manipur and CB Paudyal, Addl Director of Education (S/V) as chief Guest and President respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, RK Tenedy, Nodal Officer, Inspire Award, said that the exhibition is the first time to be organised in the state. He also stated that unlike previous years, two students from Private Schools, one each selected from among the students studying in class VI to VIII and from class IX and X respectively, are being allowed to participate in the exhibition.
He further informed that the students participating in the exhibition would be provided an amount of Rs 5000 each. This amount is to be withdrawn from State Bank of India. Altogether, 299 students have registered for participation in the exhibition but till date only 155 students have turned up.
